Deworming

Avoid parasite-related illnesses with a regular deworming schedule.

Setting boundaries is an act of self-care. When you deworm your pet, you set boundaries for what is allowed to go in and out of your pet’s body. Deworming your pet keeps out the creepy crawlies and lets in a healthier immune system, leaving more room for joy and a healthier pest-free life. Is deworming my pet important?

Deworming your pet is the best form of security you can give them to protect them against harmful diseases. If left untreated, parasites can cause serious health issues for your pet. This is why creating a parasite prevention plan with your veterinarian is important. We recommend deworming puppies and kittens every 2 weeks until they are 3-months-old. As they get older and more adventurous, our veterinarians will work with you to create a treatment plan tailored to your pet’s unique medical and lifestyle needs.

What are the signs that my pet needs to be dewormed?

Signs that your pet may have a worm infestation are not as obvious as one would think. Some pets are better at hiding their symptoms while others may have none at all. That is why regular checkups are vital to detect and treat any symptoms your pet may be experiencing before they cause any serious damage. Symptoms your pet may exhibit are:

  • Loss of appetite
  • Weight loss
  • Stomach bloating
  • Vomiting and diarrhea
  • Bloody or soft stool
